Remember early times (1960s) in Mahoe Place before Peter went to further his career when he had me running errands to the shop as training runs and also as a batter so he could practice his bowling with a tennis ball up his footpath, went home many times with bruises.
Happy times there with Judith and Terry as neighbour's. Condolences to you all.
RIP Peter.

Our family has so many fond memories of Pete from what feels like now, a golden time in our lives. Brian puts it best; My memories of Pete were as a superbly fit (still in the mid to late 90s!) strong and wise man who I always really enjoyed talking to. I played a bit of cricket for Panaga with him, Stu Alp and co and he was always so approachable for me to talk to about anything (generally it’d just be my forward defence or bowling action!) and I always really appreciated him having time for a 13-15 yr old.

Unfortunately I can’t speak for Dad but I’m sure he would have had nothing but great things to say about Pete. I know they both did the 5km Panaga runs with Dave and Leo (back then 8-9 yr olds running in 28-30 mins or so. I have a random memory of doing one of the runs and struggling, Pete running up beside me to encourage me to keep going (which I did) and I just remember this 54 yr old man absolutely cruising so made me think I needed to sort out my fitness!

Sending all our love to Rema and the family who have been close to Pete in his later years. Please know his memory is a blessing.

Love the Van Doorns
